Hardware Class + Assembly + AI Community Visit: A Weekend Well Spent!

The first half-day camp has come to an end! The children turned a robot from scattered parts into a companion. This weekend, OUBOT Technology's first Robotics Programming Half-Day Camp concluded successfully.

There were no boring PowerPoint slides, and no sitting in front of a screen watching cartoons. In this half day, the children did three things: they got to know a robot's "body," assembled their own robot by hand, and finally walked into the Zhongguancun AI Beiwei Community to see what the real AI world looks like!

Step One Getting to Know the Robot: Looking at Its "Body"

For many children, it was the first time they learned that a robot isn't just "a piece of iron" — it has a microphone that can understand what you say; a motor that drives the wheels to turn; and also circuit boards, sensors, batteries… Every part has its own job.

The teacher guided the children through these electronic components one by one: Why can a microphone "hear"? How does a motor spin? Holding a tiny part in their hands, the children's eyes were full of curiosity: so this is what "intelligence" really means — so many parts working together.Hardware Class + Assembly + AI Community Visit: A Weekend Well Spent!

Step Two Picking Up the Screwdriver: Assembling Their Own Robot

After getting to know the parts, it was time for real hands-on work.

Parts boxes, screwdrivers, and circuit boards were laid out in a row. Following the teacher's guidance, the children assembled the scattered parts bit by bit. Tightening screws, connecting wires, securing structures — every step required focus, and every step had to be done right.

When the robot they assembled stood steady for the first time, cheers erupted across the classroom:

"Teacher! It moved!"

"My robot listens to me!"

This wasn't watching someone else's demo — they built this robot with their own hands.

Step Three Walking into the AI Beiwei Community: Seeing a Bigger World Hardware Class + Assembly + AI Community Visit: A Weekend Well Spent!

After the class, the children also visited the Zhongguancun AI Beiwei Community exhibition area.

From cutting-edge AI technology to smart products that are changing daily life, the children watched and asked questions along the way: What can this robot do? How does that system work? When "artificial intelligence" from textbooks becomes a real scene before their eyes, technology is no longer a distant word — it's a future they can reach out and touch, and take part in creating.

At the end of the half-day camp, every child who completed the course received their own certificate, holding the robot they had assembled by hand, smiling brightly.

In this half day, what they learned wasn't just robot knowledge — it was the ability to solve problems with their own hands, the confidence of "I can do it too," and their first spark of curiosity about the world of technology.
